Course Aim

 

This course is suitable for anybody intending to carry out and certificate domestic electrical installation work from a socket outlet to a full rewire. It also forms part of the requirement for registration with one of the Part P Competence Schemes such as the ELECSA, NAPIT or NICEIC.

 

Prerequisites

 

No previous qualifications required.

 

Course content

 

Week 1

 

  • Types of domestic supply and supply arrangements

  • Methods of protection against electric shock

  • Circuit protection

  • Domestic wiring systems, cable sizing, ring, radial and lighting circuits

  • Selection and erection of equipment

 

Week 2

 

  • City & Guilds 2382-12 17th Edition Wiring Regulations

  • City & Guilds 2393-10 Building Regulations

 

Week 3

 

  • Introduction to inspection, testing and certification

  • City & Guilds 2392-10 Fundamental Inspection and Testing

 

Assessment

 

  • One hour forty minutes inspection and testing on line assessment and a two hour practical assessment on a small domestic rig to.

  • A one hour multi choice test and a two hour practical assessment on a small domestic rig.

 

Certification

 

  • City & Guilds 2393-10 Building Regulations

  • City & Guilds 2382-12 17th Edition Wiring Regulations

  • City & Guilds 2392-10 Fundamental Inspection and Testing

 

Practical weeks working on simulated domestic installations can be added at a cost of £550.00 per week if required. Please contact us if you wish to discuss further.
